Wireless infrared detector with built in camera and anti masking device

This is a PIR (passive infra-red) volumetric motion detector and anti-masking device, which operates like a normal detector via radio, but also integrates a camera with illuminator that can take a few environmental shots and transmit them over Wi- Fi. These pictures can be sent to a Silentron Silenya HT control panel, fitted with part no. 3796 Wi-Fi receiver board or to an access point located in the premises and enabled for web connection that is fitted with a router. PhotoPir can therefore operate as part of a Silenya HT alarm system or as a “stand alone” device and immediately send pictures of what is being detected by the PIR sensor in both types of uses.

Application
Volumetric protection of up to about 50 square meter areas with event picture transmission.

Installation
The absence of wiring constraints aids its appropriate positioning, which is crucial for PhotoPir’s proper operations. The device must be wall mounted, preferably in a corner, at a 2 to 2.5 meter (see protected area drawings). Bracket part no. 80850 is available for corner installations. Ensure that settings (sensitivity, pulse count, double alarm, temperature compensation, anti-masking, tamper and LED exclusion) are performed according to area’s requirements. Configure the built-in camera’s address appropriately.

Power supply
Three 1.5V AA batteries. Battery life: approximately 18 months with standard use. Battery life significantly decreases in busy areas and with extensive use of the camera.

Tamper protection
The device reports when it is being opened and detached from the wall.

Radio transmission
EU compliant Dual Band frequency operations. Range is suitable for device’s intended use. Data (video frames) transmission over 2,4GHz Wi-Fi.

Monitoring and Testing
Tamper alarm is triggered by sliding the device off its bracket. By triggering tamper alarm, you also enable TEST mode for 3 minutes to allow PIR range tests without PIR operations locking out after the first alarm. Alarm Keep the front cover of the housing open to permanently enabled the device’s TEST

mode. Test camera’s operation by switching on the camera, simulating an alarm and verifying that images are properly received. We recommend to temporarily disable sirens before testing.

Operation
The PIR section of the device operates as other similar devices being offered in this catalogue, but this item allows you to preenable/ disable the camera by sending radio commands from the control panel (when used within an alarm system) or from a special remote control (when used as a stand-alone device). When enabled by either means, the camera takes 640X480 pixels (VGA) video frames only after motion detection (PIR) alarm is triggered. As part of an alarm system the camera sends the pictures to a Silenya HT control panel as MMS or as e-mails to the preset addresses. As a stand-alone device, frames are placed in the local network over the Access- Point.

Video frames on demand:
remote commands are available to receive video frames on demand with both kinds of installations. In order to receive frames on demand when PhotoPir is used as a stand-alone, it must be always powered using an Access-Point standard 5V power supply fitted with a mini-USB port. Caution: video frames transmission is assured also with power failure only when the device is used within a Silentron alarm system.

Display
PhotoPir offers an alarm/test LED indicator. 5 consecutive beeps will sound after each alarm transmission to locally report that batteries need to be replaced.
