5522 SmallPir HT

Standard dual channel infrared detector

This device is a volumetric detector that detects an intruder moving within the protected area by capturing the difference in temperature of the moving target compared to background temperature. SmallPir HT features an input to connect another hard-wired sensor: this allows to receive signals from a door/ window being opened and therefore a system with a greater managing flexibility and increased safety at the same price.

Application
Volumetric indoor protection of rooms sized approximately 4x10m + input for other passive sensor.

Installation
The lack of limitations due to wiring is useful to appropriately position the device which is of paramount importance for it to properly operate. SmallPir HT is wall-mounted, preferably in a suitable corner of the room, at approximately 2.2 m high, using the supplied bracket. Carefully perform the adjustments, which must be appropriate for the environment to be protected (PIR Sensitivity - Pulse Count - Forced removal protection exclusion).

Size (h×l×d)
135.5×31×27.5 mm

Weight
0.12 Kg

Environmental class
2 - Indoor

Housing
ABS

Certifications
EN 50131

Power Supply
9V GP1604A alkaline battery or equivalent battery. Battery life: approximately two years with standard use. Battery life considerably decreases in frequently used areas.

Tamper protection
Reports device being opened and detached from the wall.

Radio transmission
EU compliant Dual Band frequency operations. Range is suitable for device’s intended use.

Monitoring and Testing
Detection is confirmed by the led light at every human movement. When using an operating system the test take place by triggering an alarm and by verifying that signal is received by the control panel.

Local signals and aesthetic solutions
Same as the door/window opening sensor (5515 B/M - Page 25)

Features
The device must be adjusted in order to report a person entering the protected building, after approximately three steps. To reduce power use, it trips after an alarm and only starts to detect again, after there is no movement in the environment for a few minutes. Any sensors that may be connected to the available input will be independently handled: since the input has a quick impulse count and its own alarm code, it is recognized by the control panel separately from volumetric protection. In addition to an intrusion alarm, the devices reports tampering as it occurs, its operating conditions (supervision) and checks battery levels every 40 minutes.

The control panel reports these signals following any arming and/or disarming operations.

Accessories 5961 universal joint
This accessory can be used when it is necessary to point the volumetric detectors.
Warning: save for installation mechanisms, forced removal tamper protection is not available by using the joint. Given the features of the devices shown and the wireless installation flexibility, the use of a joint is not recommended for the safety of the system.
