Anti-intrusion volumetric protection of open areas around the building in a sector of 70°x12 m.
5512 Application
Anti-intrusion volumetric protection of open areas around the building in a sector of 70°x20 m.
Power Supply
3 AA 1.5V batteries. Battery life: approximately two years with standard use. Battery life decreases considerably in frequently used areas.
Tamper protection
Reports device being opened and detached from the wall.
Radio transmission
EU compliant Dual Band frequency operations. Range is suitable for device’s intended use.
Monitoring and Testing
See specific instructions. When using an operating system the test take place by triggering an alarm and by verifying that signal is received by the control panel.
Features
The device must be adjusted to the lowest sensitivity level, enough to detect a person crossing the protected sector after 3-5 steps. To reduce power use, it trips after an alarm and only starts to detect again, after there is no movement in the environment for a few minutes. Correct positioning and adjustments allow to avoid the detection of small animals: avoid the presence of plants, tall grass and other moving objects in the protected area. In addition to an intrusion alarm, the devices reports tampering as it occurs, its operating conditions (supervision) and checks battery levels every 40 minutes. The control panel reports these signals following any arming and/or disarming operations.
Local signals
Three-colour LED which highlights the functional aspects.
5512 Additional Silent Long Range Functions
The shape of the area protected by the device’s PIR components (infrared sensor) includes a center beam of over 20 m and a series of 4+4 side beams that reach approximately 10 m. The device achieves greatest sensitivity when the target crosses perpendicular to the beams. The MW component (radar) covers the entire area, but only starts operating when the infrared sensor has detected something.
Quadruple control
The capability to transmit a second alarm with a different code from the first was added to these wireless detectors, which were already very stable due to the infrared and radar AND combination: this allows the AND function included in Silentron HT control panels with a single detector to be used, triggering an alarm only after two consecutive movements have been detected (IR+Radar & IR+Radar).
Caution: any outdoor detector is subject to improper alarms due to various random causes which an accurate installation and management on control panel can reduce, if not eliminate: in these cases, we recommend using the “external alarm” function on the control panel.
